Welcome! Whether you're a new knitter looking for friends, a member of the South Dayton Knitting/Crocheting Saturday Meetup, and/or a member of the new Miami Valley Knitting Guild . . . . you are in the right place! The South Dayton knitters were first organized on Meetup.com by Kortney in January 2009. Wouldn't it be cool to know that whenever you travel - on business, pleasure, or whatever...that you could travel with, meet up, or even host...people who are "into" the same things as you!? Say you're doing your "normal" business travel - you'll be in (lets say) Detroit for a few days. But instead of simply going to your normal Travel or Hotel website...you had a method of finding accommodations that showed you where other people who enjoy (fill in the blank - Golf, knitting, folk music, discus …
This group is for all ages and skill levels of knitters and crocheters. It is a social time to knit, talk, ask for advice when "stuck" on a pattern, "show and tell" about your projects, learn new techniques, and share your ideas and knowledge with less experienced knitters and crocheters. If you have never knitted or crocheted, don't be afraid - we will teach you! If interested, we can even plan optional trips to yarn shops, alpaca farms (where the yarn is made) or even annual national events su …

Spinning wool and other fabulous fibers is just more fun with others who love and appreciate using their hands to create all sorts of wonderful projects. I love to work with wool in many different ways, including felting. It would be great to get together once a month to share this love of spinning and handwork. All skill levels are welcome.
We are a diverse group of knitters and crocheters who just enjoy getting out of the house and being in the company of others who enjoy the same passion for yarns/fibers. It is a time to sit back and relax, knit, talk, compare notes on patterns, show off projects, and maybe even learn a new trick or two. Occassionally, we may even plan extra activities like a trip to Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs. ..
“Calling all Fiber Artists! I love to bring users of needles and hooks (knitters, crocheters, felters, quilters, needlepointers, embroiders, etc.) together to engage in their chosen fiber art over coffee and discussion. I believe it is more rewarding and enjoyable to create art in the company of other creative people. So join me and your fellow fiber artists on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Beans and Grapes in Pleasant Ridge, a locally owned, green and socially conscious coffee …
